First of all, thanks for visiting.

I'm Mike Bryant, also known as Mike the Boilerman. (My main website is www.miketheboilerman.com) I've built this site specifically to help owners of Gledhill Gulfstream thermal stores and/or their plumbers identify faults and fix them.

What IS a Gulfstream?

A Gulfstream is a thermal store just like all (well almost all) the other Gledhill products. It differs in that the fuel it uses is gas, and has a gas boiler built into the unit.

A thermal store works in a significantly different way from ordinary hot water cylinders and water heaters. Different enough to to mystify many heating engineers when it comes to fixing them, it seems. Gulfstreams are not particularly difficult to understand but they look intimidating, and without background knowledge many heating engineers understandably struggle to diagnose faults and repair them efficiently.

I've created this site with the three objectives.

1) To assist owners and repair engineers understand Gledhill PulsaCoils better and the the faults that sometimes occur. There are several versions of the PulsaCoil. Here are pages covering three most common:

Gulfstream
Gulfstream 2000
Gulfstream A-Class

2) To promote my own Gulfstream repair service. If you live within reasonable travelling distance of Reading, then please contact me. Click here for details.

3) To help owners of Gulfstreams too far away from me find a local competent Gulfstream repair engineer. My advice is to phone Gledhill initially. Gledhill have their own fleet of engineers on the road who carry out repairs under the Gledhill warranty given with new appliances. Even when an appliance is 'out of warranty', Gledhill may send one of their service engineers to carry out a repair (on a chargeable basis) if the have a local one available. If they don't have an 'in-house' engineer available they they maintain lists of what they call "Out of Warranty Service Engineers". These are independent engineers who Gledhill recommend as being familiar with Gledhill products. I am a Gledhill Recommended Out of Warranty Service Engineer (as if you hadn't guessed). I cover Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, south Oxfordshire, West Surrey and most parts of London. If you are outside this area then call Gledhill on 01253 474401 for the number of your local Gledhill Out Of Warranty Engineers.

If my pages of common Gulfstream faults and their symptoms and remedies don't help, I'm happy to give email advice to anyone wanting it. Just email me. My contact details are here. Gledhill themselves also offer first class telephone technical support during normal office hours. The number again is 01253 474401.

Once again, thanks for visiting.

Mike Bryant, AKA Mike the Boilerman.
